Celebrate National Volunteer Month: Donate Blood April 8
The Red Cross is holding a blood drive in Pleasantville.

Volunteer donors are the only source of blood for patients in need of transfusions. Here are some upcoming blood donation opportunities in Westchester:
- Harrison—1-6 p.m. April 8, Veterans Memorial Bldg, 216 Halstead Ave
- New Rochelle—2-7 p.m April 7, Dumont Center, 676 Pelham Rd and 2-7 p.m. April 10, New Rochelle Public Library, One Library Plaza, Lawton Street
- Pleasantville—11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. April 8, Pace University, 861 Bedford Road
- White Plains—4/2/2015: 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. April 2, Pace Law School, 78 North Broadway
- Yonkers—11:30 a.m - 4:30 p.m. April 12, St Andrews Marthoma Church, 58 Crescent Place
How to donate blood
Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
