Coat Drive Underway in Briarcliff Manor
The local PBA is organizing a coat drive for the first time.

The Benevolent Association (PBA) is undertaking its second drive of the holiday season.
After that benefited the Maria Ferari Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center, the PBA is now focusing its efforts into keeping some of Westchester's own warm during the wintertime.
"The Briarcliff Manor Police Benevolent Association is collecting clean used coats in decent condition," said Police Officer Mike Zazzini. "We are going to deliver them to in White Plains for people that need coats."

Zazzini, who used to work in White Plains, said he is familiar with El Central Hispano and knows there is a need for coats this time of year.
According to its website, El Central Hispano is a community organization that has served the Hispanic community in White Plains since 1974. Its mission is "to assist, support and strengthen Hispanic families; to help them become self-sufficient; and to ease their transition into their new culture while maintaining and enriching their own."

"They help people in the community, not just in White Plains," added Zazzini.
Like the toy drive, the coat drive is being spearheaded by Police Officer Jason Wollman. This is the first year the PBA is organizing a coat drive.
"The coats will be given out during 'Little Christmas' on January 8," explained Zazzini. "They are going to give toys out to little kids, too."
Coats can be brought to the police station—any used coats in OK condition for adults and children are acceptable.
"It will be greatly appreciated," said Zazzini.
