Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation Donates $10,000 To Swim Across America

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Connecticut & Westchester County, N.Y., is pleased to announce that the company’s Westchester region offices made a $10,000 donation to Swim Across America Inc. through Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Cares Foundation, the company’s charitable foundation.

Swim Across America Inc. is a nonprofit organization that raises money and awareness for cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming-related events.

This is the eighth year that the sales associates of the Westchester County offices of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage have supported Swim Across America. Anthony Sibio, an associate real estate broker affiliated with the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Pleasantville office, serves as chairman of this ongoing fundraising effort.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage employees and affiliated salespeople also provide support to the local Westchester County “Swim Across The Sound” fundraising event held in July by volunteering, participating in the swim event and making donations.

“Cancer touches so many lives, and fortunately, there are organizations like Swim Across America that are committed to helping and supporting families most affected by it,” said Martha Krakow, senior managing director of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage office in Briarcliff Manor. “As a company dedicated to the communities we serve, it is important to me and the sales associates affiliated with my office, as well as the offices throughout Westchester County, to support such a worthy cause.”

The 2016 fundraising event drew approximately 800 swimmers for the Swim in Long Island Sound and eight pool swims around the county. Proceeds from these events go to the Cancer Support Team in Mamaroneck, N.Y., the Tommy Palazzo Fellowship for Pediatric Oncology Research at the New York-Presbyterian Children’s Hospital and the Swim Across America Research Lab and DeMatteo Research Lab at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. This year’s Swim is expected to net more than $1 million.

With the assistance of hundreds of volunteers, past and current Olympian and corporate sponsors, Swim Across America is subsidizing cutting-edge cancer research, progressive survivorship clinics and the foremost in patient care and treatment. Swim Across America began as a grassroots organization with events developing organically. Now, those events raise millions of dollars and money raised is still given to local beneficiaries.
