Drug Sweep Ends in Assault Arrest at Cottage School

Two 17-year-olds arrested yesterday.

Mount Pleasant Police report yesterday a 17-year-old male student allegedly stabbed another student with a fork in the head.

According to police, "Executives from the requested that a drug sweep be performed at their property," and while performing the sweep, "police became aware of a felony assault that occurred earlier in the day."

The suspect, who had previously been in custody at Riker's Island after a burglary charge, now faces a charge of Assault with a dangerous instrument, a Class D felony.

"The arrested male is a purported member of a violent gang out of New York City," police reported.

Also yesterday: police said a 17-year-old female Cottage School student was arrested on a Nassau County Court warrant without incident.
