An Evening With Romanian actress Anda Onesa and the film Anastasia Gently Passes

Anda Onesa lives quietly in Westchester County, where few know her extraordinary story.  By 1980 (after Anastasia Gently Passes) she was one of Romania's most famous actresses, and at just twenty years old, one of the most recognizable faces in the country, a personality whose every move and affair was closely followed by the media.  But in the 1980's she found herself increasingly at odds with the Ceausescu dictatorship, fighting against the government in the December Revolution of 1989.  Increasingly disillusioned with the new post-revolutionary government, in 1991 she  made the tumultuous decision to leave Romania, leaving everything behind, including acting, and come to America where she started a completely new life, virtually anonymous. Alexandru Tatos. 1979. 100 m. NR. Romania , Romanian.
