Mezzo-soprano Phyllis Fay Farmer and pianist Emily Olin will present "Romance Is in the Air" at the Mt. Pleasant Public Library, 350 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, on Sunday, February 12, at 2:00pm. Come and enjoy a recital of romantic art songs by Purcell, Haydn, Saint-Saëns, Beach, Rimsky-Korsakov, Glinka, and Ippolitov-Ivanov. I run <a href="bonannoworkshop.com" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Bonanno Writing Workshop</a>, a freelance writing tutoring practice for high school and college students. I'm currently working with a Pleasantville HS senior on academic writing and college prep, and figured I'd reintroduce myself more broadly as summer prep season approaches. 
 I made a free worksheet for the most common writing problem I see: a thesis that's true but too vague to argue. It walks through three tests (specific / contestable / significant) and the four traps thesis statements usually fall into.
