Louis Russo will present “Chinese Culture: Its Myths and Legends” at the Mt. Pleasant Public Library, 350 Bedford Road, Pleasantville, on Saturday, February 4, from 2:00 to 3:00pm. This program will focus on Chinese history, its classic stories, rich traditions, and art forms.
For 5,000 years, Chinese culture was heralded as a divine gift. Its values of benevolence, honor, etiquette, wisdom, and sincerity have inspired countless artists and poets. The
program will focus on Chinese history and include a brief overview of key dynasties, classic stories, and fascinating characters from Chinese literature, classical Chinese dance (Shen Yun), and Chinese musical instruments. It will explain how Shen Yun uses dance to express Chinese civilization and its values. There will also be an opportunity for questions.
