The Briarcliff Manor Recreation Department is pleased to announce the 2012 Summercliff Players’ production of "Once on This Island" for students ages 11 to 21. Offered through a cooperative effort with the Briarcliff Friends of the Performing Arts and the Briarcliff Manor Community Coalition, this is the summer troupe’s sixth season. With drama, music, art and dance, "Once on This Island" is a show with a catchy, contemporary, and Caribbean-flavored score by the Tony® Award-winning songwriting team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. The show will be directed by Kathleen Donovan-Warren with Musical Direction by Nadia Rizzo and Technical Direction by James Britt. Rehearsals will run Monday – Friday, 6:00 to 9:00 pm, from June 25 – July 26. Two public performances are scheduled for July 27th and 28th. Registration is not limited to residents of Briarcliff Manor and tuition is $420 per performer with a $25 non-refundable audition fee. Auditions will be held starting Sunday May 20th at the Briarcliff Recreation Center on Macy Road.
Those interested are encouraged to attend the Summercliff Players’ Open House & Informational Meeting that will be held at 7:00 pm on April 19th at the Briarcliff Manor Youth Center, 5 Van Lu Van Road (behind the post office).
