Briarcliff HS returned to the Penn Relays today after decades away in a blaze of glory. Our Girls 4x400 Relay of Becca Bianco, Sharon Luan, Sophie Feuer and Madeline Zimmerman crushed their own school record by an amazing SEVEN seconds with a time of 4:08.71, finishing third in their race and earning coveted Penn Relays medals. All set great new PRs.
- Becca Bianco, our team veteran, ran the extremely difficult first leg where they start 16 teams in a California start, in a terrific 1:04.2 lowering her PR by .7 seconds - GI-NORM-OUS, Becca!!!
- Sharon Luan took the difficult first pass in the crowded field and blazed to an awesome 1:02.8 leg dropping her PR by 1.1 seconds - FAN-TAS-TERRIFIC, Sharon!!!
- Sophie Feuer ran an unbelievable third leg of 1:00.8 (which is faster than the school 400 record) improving her PR by 1.4 seconds - OUTSTANDING-A-MUNDO, Sophie!!!
- Madeline Zimmerman brought Briarcliff home with the fourth scorching leg of the day in 1:00.9 (which is equal to the current school 400 record) besting her PR by 1.4 seconds - GI-HUGE-IC, Madeline!!!
This was a sensational achievement by four extraordinary athletes. WAY TO GO, Becca, Sharon, Sophie and Madeline!!!
