Centrally located in the middle of Briarcliff Manor's business district, Hudson Motors Auto Services is the town's newest auto repair specialist. It’s owned by Joy and Susan DeSilva, a husband and wife team, who
are dedicated to making your auto service experience a great one, through excellent work and a positive customer experience.

Joy DeSilva's friends, family and associates say he was born to be a mechanic. From earliest childhood, Joy put wheels on all his toys – from blocks to boats. As a teen he regularly took apart and reassembled the family’s Triumph Herald, fixing even the most minor problem as he gained real-life experience in making machines work. After getting his certification as a mechanic he set his sights on leaving his native Sri Lanka (Ceylon).

As a young man Joy came to the U.S., ending up in Manhattan as an apprentice. After several years spent working as a mechanic, he became foreman and eventually manager of a busy shop on the Upper
East Side. Even while managing, he kept honing his skills, keeping up with the latest innovations and always happy to help troubleshoot for neighboring shops with their most thorny repair problems on high-end
luxury cars.

He is known for having the rarest combination of mechanical skills - sensitivity and intuition, which come with years of listening to and understanding cars. Equipped with state-of-the-art scanners and old-school practical knowledge of every sound and sputter a moving vehicle can make, he works tirelessly and effectively to figure out any problem.

Now Joy has struck out on his own, teaming up with his wife Susan, a NYC-born graphic designer, to start their own shop near their home in Peekskill, which they share with their Bedlington Terrier, Louie.

Hudson Motors offers service to every foreign and domestic brand of vehicle, focusing on VW, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes Benz Lexus, Land Rover, Infiniti, Acura, Toyota, Nissa, Honda and Subaru. Fleet Maintenance is also available (particularly Sprinters).
