Mt. Pleasant Police Chief Plans Retirement: Report

Longtime department head Louis Alagno plans to retire this year.

Mount Pleasant's longtime police chief will be retiring this year, according to a report in The Examiner.

Neal Rentz writes Alagno has been a part of the department for 37 years and told the Town Board last week he will give notice in September or October.

He did not provide an explanation for his decisions, other than saying it's the right time, according to the report.

Town Supervisor Joan Maybury told The Examiner candidates from a Westchester County civil service list will be considered for the position.

Alagno did not immediately respond to Patch's request for comment.
