NY Landmarks Conservancy Open House with All Saints' Church, Briarcliff Manor

On May 16th, 11am-2pm, come visit our historic 1854 church for free tours of the building and its significant stained glass windows!

On Saturday, May 16, 2015 All Saints’ Episcopal Church will welcome visitors as part of the statewide New York Landmarks Conservancy Sacred Sites Open House Weekend. Church members will lead informal free tours of the church sanctuary between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, All Saints’ Church is an Early English Style Gothic Revival building designed by renowned architect Richard Upjohn. The original building was completed in 1854. The church was expanded in 1911.

The histories of Briarcliff Manor and All Saints’ are closely entwined as the church stands on the former Rev. John Ogilby estate after which the village was named. Some of the stained-glass windows are by or attributed to Tiffany Glass Works, John La Farge and Gibson of Philadelphia (1854). Many are memorials to prominent Briarcliff families.

All Saints’ has received two matching grants from Sacred Sites in the past 10 years: to repair brickwork around its stained glass windows and to correct sanctuary area drainage problems.
