Tamburino Named to ABCA All-East Region Second Team

Starting pitcher Michael Tamburino (Baldwin, NY/Holy Trinity) added to his postseason awards resume as he was selected to the American Baseball Coaches’ Association (ABCA) All-East Region Second Team.

Tamburino was recently named to the Daktronics All-East Region Second Team and was also a Northeast-10 Conference Second Team selection after an outstanding season on the mound for the Pace Baseball team.

Pair of Setters Selected to Rawlings Gold Glove First Team

Senior outfielder Patrick Chaputian (Sea Cliff, NY/North Shore) and junior catcher Joe Solomeno (Holbrook, NY/Sachem East) were selected to the 2012 East Region Rawlings Gold Glove First Team as announced by the American Baseball Coaches’ Association (ABCA).

Chaputian was also named to the Northeast-10 Conference Third Team as an outfielder earlier this month. The Gold Glove Award is presented to the top defensive fielders and the first team selections advance to the national ballot with the winners being selected on Sunday, May 27 as part of the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship being held in Cary, North Carolina.


Pace Athletics Raises $2,579.50 for the Dickstein Cancer Treatment Center

Pace Athletics in partnership with Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) raised $2,579.50 during the 2011-2012 school year for the Dickstein Cancer Treatment Center of White Plains Hospital.

T-shirts were created and sold at seven Pace Athletics events throughout the year with general donations also being collected.  The t-shirts were created with the “Pace Goes Pink” logo and the phrase “Fighting Cancer Together” underneath.
