After coming off its first win of the year, a 7-6 triumph against rival Westlake on Saturday, life doesn’t get any easier for 's football team (1-3) as it travels to Our Lady of Lourdes at Overlook Park at 6:30 p.m. today.
What worries Panthers Coach Tony Becerra most about the Warriors is their size up front.
“Their roster on the line, 6-foot-4,300 pounds; 6-2, 270; 6-2, 295; 6-3, 275,” Becerra said. “They have huge, huge guys up front.”

If the Panthers are going to come away with a win in Dutchess County, playing fundamentally sound football will be imperative.
“We have to be sound and limit our mistakes,” Becerra said. “It is a short week so preparation time is at a premium. It’s a long road trip. They are still riding on the good feeling of Saturday, not that they are resting on that by any means but at least they have a good taste in their mouth now and hopefully they want some more of that.”

While it’s a long road trip, Pleasantville will at least be making it with plenty of momentum after a hard-fought win against Westlake. That game saw the Panthers Charlie Montgomery catching a 21-yard touchdown pass from Danny Schulman, with the PAT coming from Michael Lanza which turned out to make the difference.
While beating a rival made their first win of the season extra sweet, Becerra said that it would have been a big win regardless of who his Panthers played.
“At this point, we were just looking for a W against anybody,” Becerra said. It was a great feeling to win that game. I told the guys for the last two weeks we were No. 1 on the field and No. 2 on the scoreboard and this week we were No. 1 in both.”
