Pleasantville Court: Stabbing Case Heads to County; Burglary Cases Resolved

Here's a look at what happened during 's January 24 session. Criminal Court is in session every other Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Stabbing Case Heads to County

The case of Briarcliff Manor resident Reza Daneshvar is heading to Westchester County court for a Superior Court Information (SCI) felony hearing.

Daneshvar, 21, faces a charge of Assault in the First Degree a 20-year-old Briarcliff Manor man in Pleasantville on Nov. 23, 2011.

Assistant District Attorney Nicholas DiCostanza said a Mount Pleasant judge had signed off on the SCI waiver, where he has a separate matter pending.

He was arrested at the campus in earlier November .

The case was then adjourned in Pleasantville until April 17 for control.

Counterfeiting Defendant Seeks Adjournment

Steven Gallo of Mount Kisco appeared in court yesterday alongside his attorney.

Gallo, 53, counterfeiting United State currency at a Bedford Road address.

He is charged with two felonies—Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of Forgery Devices.

Gallo's attorney stated he had engaged in "preliminary discussions" with DiCostanza and requested an adjournment until February 7.

Possible Dispostion for Teen Accused of Driving on Field

Anthony Saline, 18, was arrested on December 6 and charged with Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, along with a vehicle and traffic infraction for allegedly driving on a sidewalk.

The Chappaqua resident is accused of doing donuts in an SUV on the  field on .

On Tuesday, Saline's attorney requested the case be adjourned until February 7 for a possible disposition.

Larceny, Robbery Cases Adjourned

Patrick Hopkins-Drago, 18, was  and charged with Petit Larceny and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree.

The Pleasantville resident is accused making illegal ATM withdrawals in the village.

Hopkins-Drago also has an open case stemming from a , when he allegedly mugged a minor in the village. He is charged with Robbery in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree.

The defendant did not appear in court Tuesday and DiCostanza noted on January 10.

Yesterday, Hopkins-Drago's attorney requested an all purpose adjournment for February 7 for both open cases.

Burglary Cases Resolved

The cases of Heather Hoy, 25, and Jesse Turner, 18, were marked off the Pleasantville court calendar Tuesday after DiCostanza stated they took pleas during an SCI hearing.

Turner is a resident of Stormville, NY.

The pair were initially charged with Burglary in the Second Degree after they were accused of from a Bedford Road apartment. Hoy, of Pleasantville, was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree.

Hoy pled guilty to Burglary in the Second Degree and was sentenced to time served, according to DiCostanza.
