Pleasantville Police Blotter: Pumpkin Thrown at Car; Fake Ambien Prescription

The following information was supplied by the police department. When arrests are noted, they do not indicate a conviction.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  from November 7 — 13, 2011.

Saturday, Nov. 12

8:01 p.m. — A Mount Vernon man called police from Bedford Road, where he said he required assistance with his 17-year-old son. The man stated his son refused to listen to him regarding the use of the family car. The responding officer reported the two parties came to an agreement and no further action was needed.

6:04 a.m. — A woman called police and reported hearing a loud noise in the area of Washington Avenue at Hillview Drive, which she thought may have been a motor vehicle accident. Police responded to the area and did not find anyone in need of aid.

Friday, Nov. 11

10:08 p.m. — A Hillview Drive woman called police and reported someone had just damaged her mailbox (valued at approximately $30) and then fled the area in a vehicle, headed toward Washington Avenue. She stated her husband had attempted to follow the suspect, but was unable to provide a further description. Police dispatched a patrol officer to the area.

1:29 a.m. — A Marble Avenue man called police and reported tenants residing on the third floor of his apartment building were making noise. Responding officers stated there were no noise ordinance violations at the residence. The tenant said he would discuss the matter with his landlord.

Thursday, Nov. 10

11:38 p.m. — A Manville Road woman called police and reported an unknown party had dented her vehicle by throwing a pumpkin at it sometime earlier in the evening. The responding officer said the trunk appeared damaged by a pumpkin sitting nearby. A report of the criminal mischief was filed.

12:59 a.m. — A Marble Avenue woman called police and reported noise coming from the third floor of her apartment building. The responding officer reported the situation was corrected.

Wednesday, Nov. 9

4:32 p.m. — Police arrested a minor on Hopper Street.

9:00 a.m. — A doctor practicing in a Marble Avenue building called police and reported one of his patients was a victim of attempted credit card solicitation. He stated he received a call from a person calling from a blocked number claiming to work for CVS. The caller told the doctor the patient's credit card number was needed to pay for a 100-pill Ambien prescription. The doctor said he had not subscribed the patient Ambien and more then 30 pills cannot be prescribed at one time. The patient, a Briarcliff Manor man, canceled his bank account. Police advised him to report any further suspicious activity to the .

Monday, Nov. 7

7:08 p.m. — Police responded to Marble Avenue after receiving a complaint about youths. A report was filed.
