Pleasantville Police Blotter: Home Burglarized; Cars Damaged

The following information was supplied by the police departments. When arrests are noted, they do not indicate a conviction.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  from September 5 — 11, 2011.

Sunday, Sept. 11

3:55 p.m. — A woman called 911 to to report a dispute on Marble Avenue. She stated the argument was verbal, but looked as if it might escalate. Pleasantville police notified Mount Pleasant Police of the situation.

Friday, Sept. 9

10:49 p.m. — An Ashland Avenue resident called police and reported a large group of youths hanging out on a field. Police dispersed the group.

10:29 p.m. — A man called police and reported an ongoing dispute in a Bedford Road parking lot over a broken windshield. The owner of the damaged vehicle told responding officers he saw two youths throwing rocks in the lot and one cracked his windshield. The man said he proceeded to yell at the kids and got into an argument with their father. The father was gone from the scene once police arrived. The incident was reported for the record.

Tuesday, Sept. 6

9:40 p.m. — A Brookview Place resident called police and reported her home had been burglarized in the past. She stated she was away from 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 1 until that evening. The woman said when she arrived home, she noticed drawers in our bedroom were slightly open and the closet door was ajar. She reported several pieces of jewelry were missing. Responding officers reported it appeared forced entry into the home had been made through a kitchen window. The detective arrived at the scene for processing and a report was filed.

8:08 a.m. — A woman came into headquarters and reported "malicious damage" in the form of scratches to her vehicle while it was parked at the  between 2 and 6 p.m. the previous day. A report was filed.

Monday, Sept. 5

5:31 p.m. — A Broadway resident called police to report a large group of youths in the roadway near the , possibly on the verge of a fight. Responding officers reported there were school counselors at the scene and no issues.  

7:40 a.m. — A Washington Avenue resident came into headquarters and reported her car appeared to have been keyed overnight while parked in her driveway. She stated there was damage to the right side of the car and the right tail light was broken. A report was filed.

From the Mount Pleasant Police Department:

Sunday, Sept. 11 — Police reported a vehicle was broken into while parked at Rockwood Nature Preserve in Sleepy Hollow and numerous items were taken. 

Thursday, Sept. 8 — Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bedford Road. At the scene, a 34-year-old Mount Kisco man was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license.

Police arrested a 28-year-old Pleasantville woman after responding to a disturbance at her residence. Police report the court ordered the woman to stay away from her parents' home.
