Pleasantville Police Blotter: Shoplifting Arrests at Key Food; Suspended License Arrest

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the from August 29 — September 4, 2011.
Sunday, Sept. 4
7:02 p.m. — Police received a 911 call from a employee, who stated the staff had detained two shoplifters. Police arrested a 17-year-old Pleasantville youth and 16-year-old Chappaqua youth for allegedly attempting to shoplift a loaf of bread, bag of Ranch chips and White Castle burgers from the supermarket.

12:53 p.m. — The owner of called police to report one of the store's windows, facing Jackson Alley, had been cracked. He stated he has had problems with vandalism to the storefront by youths in the past, but was not sure if this incident was intentional. A report was filed.

3:57 p.m. — A police officer reported a two-car accident in the village involving five people. He stated there were no injuries. The detective arrested a 31-year-old Pleasantville man at the scene for driving with a suspended license.
Friday, Sept. 2
9:10 p.m. — The detective arrested a 30-year-old Eastchester woman for Petit Larceny. She on Tuesday.
1:28 p.m. — An alarm company notified police of an activated smoke detector at the . Responding officers reported the detector was activated by the diner's oven and the was notified. No damage or injuries were reported.
Thursday, Sept. 1
6:32 p.m. — A Virginia Place woman came into headquarters and reported a possible larceny. She stated she and her husband are in the process of a divorce and continue to co-own a building. She stated renters in the building were supposed to pay through their company, but she had learned her husband's parents had asked tenants to pay a different company. The woman stated she wanted to report the possible unauthorized transfers in order to pursue larceny charges.
Wednesday, Aug. 31
11:50 a.m. — An Eastview Avenue woman called police to report her car's tires had been slashed while parked in her driveway. The incident was reported for the record.
Tuesday, Aug. 30
9:12 p.m. — An Academy Street resident called police to report a group of youths congregated at the Bedford Road School playground. The responding officer reported the group was dispersed.
Monday, Aug. 29
9:10 p.m. — An Academy Street resident called police to report a large group hanging out at the field. The responding officer reported the group was dispersed.
7:13 a.m. — A patrol officer reported he was flagged down by a Tarrytown man who stated the rear driver's side window of his car had been damaged while parked on Village Lane overnight. The officer reported there was damage, but could not determine if it was caused by or intentionally. A report was filed.
