Pleasantville Police Blotter: Stolen Parking Meters; Heroin Arrest in Mount Pleasant

The following information was supplied by the police department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some of the incidents investigated by the  from Jan. 9 — 15, 2012:

Saturday, Jan. 14

10:34 a.m. — Police were notified of a fire alarm activation on Ridgeview Drive. The Pleasantville Volunteer Ambulance Corps was dispatched to the scene via fire control.

Friday, Jan. 13

10:11 p.m. — A Cortlandt Manor man stopped a patrol officer and reported his car had been tampered with while in the Cooley Street parking lot. The man said he had parked in the lot at approximately 3:15 p.m. and returned at 10 p.m. When he returned, the man said his fuel door was open and the fuel cap was on the ground. When he tried to drive the car away, the engine turned off. The man told the police officer, "I think somebody poured something inside the fuel tank." The man then called AAA to tow the car from the scene and said he would follow up with the police department after a mechanic inspected the vehicle.

8:24 a.m. — A employee called police to report a street sign on King Street appeared to have been intentionally run over by a vehicle parked in a driveway adjacent to the sign. Police filed a report.

Wednesday, Jan. 11

1:51 p.m. — A Department of Public Works employee reported two parking meters on a single pole had been stolen from Tompkins Avenue, near the intersection of Manville Road. The responding police officer reported the pole supporting the meters appeared to have been cut approximately 2 inches from the ground. A report was filed.

Tuesday, Jan. 10

7:02 p.m. — A Lenox Avenue woman dialed 911 and reported a disturbance at her home regarding child visitation. The responding officer reported a man came to the residence to see his daughter, but was denied entry by his wife's mother. The man was allowed to say goodnight to his daughter and then left the scene without further incident.

2:48 p.m. — A man called police and reported an electrical box had wires exposed on Memorial Plaza, in front of . The responding police officer said the wires exposed were for the traffic light sensor. Police contacted an electrical company.

Monday, Jan. 9

6:30 p.m. — A 53-year-old Mount Kisco man came into headquarters alongside his attorney. He provided the detective with an oral and written admission to an alleged counterfeiting offense. He was then arrested and released on $1,000 bail. Read more about the arrest .

9:42 a.m. — Police received a call from the owner of . The caller told police a vehicle on the business' property had been damaged. He said the vehicle's windshield (valued at $200), hood (valued at $800) and roof rack (valued at $250) had been damaged. He said he believes youths hanging out at an abandoned Washington Avenue building had thrown rocks at the car. Police filed a report.

 

From the Mount Pleasant Police Department:

Friday, Jan. 13 — Police reported finding an 18-year-old Pleasantville man unconscious on Route 9A in the vicinity of Hawthorne. He was placed under arrest after police determined he had injected himself with heroin.
