P'ville Girls Lax Defeats Edgemont, Heads to Finals

A 12-11 victory sends the Panthers to the championships.

's girls lacrosse team (17-1) earned a hard-fought win on Monday in the Section 1 Class C semifinals at home against Edgemont (11-4-1).

The visiting team brought lots of momentum and a supportive crowd to the Pleasantville Panthers' field on the misty afternoon; with the teams neck-and-neck throughout the entire game.

The home team ultimately took the victory, 12-11, to advance to the championship game against Pearl River (14-4-1) on Wednesday in Yorktown.

The two teams went into the half at 6-6, with the scores staying tight for much of the second half.

Carly Citron led Edgemont's offense with nine goals total, while Emily Heineman added two. Julie Concolino contributed 10 saves in the net for the visiting team.
