Senior Afternoon Cinema Kicks off at Jacob Burns Film Center
The Senior Afternoon Cinema will kick off in September. All films will be in English and under two hours in length.

From Jacob Burns Film Center: The Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) has created a new program called Senior Afternoon Cinema, which will kick off in September. All films will be under two hours in length and are in English. The programming for fall is:
Sept. 12
MRS. HENDERSON PRESENTS starring Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins. Recently widowed, well-to-do Laura Henderson buys an old London theater and opens it up as the Windmill, a performance hall which goes down in history for, among other things, all nude revues. Nominated for 2 Oscars.

Oct. 17
BELLE starring Tom Wilkinson, Emily Watson, and Matthew Goode. The true story of an illegitimate mixed-race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral who is raised by her aristocratic great-uncle and his wife in 18th century England. Belle’s lineage affords her certain privileges, but the color of her skin prevents her from fully participating in the traditions of her social standing. Winner of 14 awards.

Nov. 14
GREY GARDENS A documentary about the aunt and cousin of Jackie Kennedy Onassis, who live their eccentric lives in a filthy, decaying mansion in East Hampton. Winner of 5 awards.
Dec. 5
JULIA starring Jane Fonda, Vanessa Redgrave, and Jason Robards. At the behest of an old and dear friend, playwright Lillian Hellman undertakes a dangerous mission to smuggle funds into Nazi Germany. Winner of 3 Oscars.
