Sports Injury Symposium March 7th at 7pm
1st Annual "Sports Injury Symposium" will be an informative and educational event, with healthcare experts discussing youth sports injuries.

ProClinix Sports Physical Therapy & Chiropractic and Pleasantville Union Free School District are presenting the 1st Annual "Injury Action Plan for Parents of an Athlete - Sports Injury Symposium" on March 7th at 7pm (snow date would be March 14th). The event will be held in the Pleasantville High School Auditorium, and will include a panel of healthcare experts discussing a variety of topics about youth sports injuries. The panel of healthcare experts will include Dr. Demetris Delos (Orthopedic Surgeon & Sports Medicine Specialist from Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists); Dr. Alex Diaz (Sports Psychologist from Sports Mental Edge); Dr. Brian Dombal (Physical Therapist from ProClinix Sports Physical Therapy & Chiropractic); Dr. Doron Ilan (Orthopedic Surgeon from Premier Orthopaedics Westchester & Rockland); Justen Lopez (Certified Athletic Trainer for Pleasantville Schools); and Dr. Kristin Roye (pediatrician from Briarcliff Pediatric Associates, and school physician for Pleasantville Union Free School District). The panel will be discussing how to manage injuries from a professional team approach, from when the injury occurs, to treatment, to returning to play. The experts will also explain the general distinctions between minor, moderate and severe injuries, as well as educate on the importance of proper student athlete training, conditioning, general wellness, and the proactive things athletes can do pre-season and during the season to prevent injuries. And finally, the panel of experts will advise on the importance of creating an injury action plan and what it should look like. All parents and athletes in the Pleasantville, NY area should attend this free, informative and educational event. Additionally, ProClinix will make a donation to the Community Scholarship Fund of Pleasantville on behalf of every attendee to the event.
