St. Theresa School's 3rd and 4th grade girls basketball team, aka the Gidgets, won the WCSL League Championship game yesterday. After sweeping their playoff games, St. Theresa Gidgets advanced to the championship game against St. Paul's Gidgets team and won the game with a score of 16-9.

St. Paul's school is located in Yonkers. The game was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help school in Pelham. This is the second year in a row that the St. Theresa Gidgets team has won the WCSL Championship.

Boys basketball

The Section 1 Class B tournament, which includes Pleasantville and Briarcliff, is set to start on Friday, Feb. 17.

Girls basketball

Briarcliff and Pleasantville's girls squads will also get in the action as they are participating in the girls Section 1 Class B tournament, which also starts Feb. 17.
