Standout High School Athletes Recognized in Briarcliff
BHS varsity athletes earn county, state accolades.
Interim Superintendent Dr. Jerry Cicchelli, alongside Athletic Director Chris Drosopoulos, recognized the achievements of several varsity athletes Monday night in a cookies and coffee reception held in the cafeteria.
Melissa and Jessica Colton, both seniors, received recognition for their efforts in field hockey and making the all-state team.
Ali Joannou, a junior, made all-league in volleyball.

Harry Zimmerman, also a junior, made all-league in the high jump and the 300 meter dash. Zimmerman has also been named county champion all-county in the high jump. He has accomplished clearing six feet in the high jump, but has set his sights on much higher.
Melissa and Jessica Colton will be going on to college in the coming year.
