BY THE QUART,
OR WITH FRESH
SHORTCAKE!
This week's rain will move out to reveal a Saturday full of activities at the Pleasantville Farmers Market, in Memorial Plaza. Catch hammered dulcimer player Paul Mueller, help your kids find their inner actor with ARC Stages, and shop for ripe June strawberries as well as a week's worth of regionally produced, fresh food. (To keep on top of over 60 events at the Market throughout the season get to know the website's Calendar page by clicking here).
Newgate Farms Strawberry Shortcake at the Market?
Where? In "Memorial Aisle" near the flagpoles!
Head over to Newgate's stand to find out where all the paper plates of fresh scones, fresh strawberries, and fresh whipped cream are coming from. We'll have tables and chairs for the impulsive to eat on site, and Newgate will also pack strawberry shortcakes to go.
More on Strawberries:
Last week Mead Orchards, Madura Farms, and Newgate Farms generously contributed rhubarb and some of the first strawberries of the season to our kid's fruit tart event. Now Mead, Madura, Newgate and Breezy Hill Orchard are reporting that strawberries are indeed coming to market. Stop by these farms to get pints and quarts of fresh, regional strawberries.
Thirsty?
Healing Home Foods will introduce new cold pressed fruit and vegetable juices this week, complimenting the many other options we have for thirsty shoppers to drink at the Market. This year we also have aqua frescas at Go-Go Pops, hot and iced coffee at Forty Weight Coffee Roasters, ciders at Mead Orchards and Breezy Hill Orchards, white or chocolate milks from Ronnybrook, and drinkable yogurts from Ronnybrook or The Butterfield Farm Company. Items to go include natural soda syrups from Drink More Good, craft beers from Captain Lawrence, and region wines from Adair Vineyards, Whitecliff Vineyards, Tousey Winery, and Warwick Valley Winery & Black Dirt Distillery.
To see exactly who's in Saturday, using our Interactive Map of the Market, click here. That's one way to know that Guyank Brand is making their 1x/month visit this Saturday. And that North Winds Lavender Farm and Whitecliff Vineyards are making their first visits of the season. Also visit our Vendor Page to review a listing of all our vendors with notes on the frequency of their visits, and links to their websites. Lastly, always keep an eye on the left column of this newsletter where we list the Rotation Vendors in for the week.
Parking Note for Saturday: Cooley Lot Closed
The Jacob Burns Film Center will have an event Saturday utilizing the Cooley Street Lot. However, there are 6 other parking lots within a few blocks of the Market. Get to know the "Hidden Parking Lots" of Pleasantville by clicking here to download a parking map.
