April is beginning to turn up the pleasant in Pleasantville. This Saturday the weather is expected to be nice (in the 50's and dry), and the Pleasantville Farmers Market will be full of great foods. Shoppers will see the first visit of the season for Puras Paletas (ice pops are back!). Use your reusable bags (or get some at the Manager's Tent) while shopping as one way to celebrate this week’s Earth Day, and enjoy that spring is finally settling in.
Getting to know the new marketplace can also take time to settle in. Don't overlook the south end (close to Bedford Road) as many favorite vendors are located in this area including Buddhapesto, Puras Paletas, Hudson Valley Duck, Spice Revolution, and Teagevity. Certified Organic Little Seed Gardens is also in the south end with their microgreens, shoots, spinach, kale mix, lettuce salad mix, baby arugula, as well as bagged onions, shallots and potatoes (all of which are available for preorder in PFM-Online). See you at the Market!

Lead Sponsor Phelps Hospital Northwell Health shares the following: "Radish tops can be aggressive tasting when mature, but mild when young and tender. If they are the latter, add them to a salad, or shred them and mix with butter and sea salt to spread over sliced bread. If the former, use them in a potato based soup. Radish leaves can be strong tasting, but they are considered to be extremely beneficial to eat".
