Local players earn honors

It's important for student-athletes to not only excel on the field but also more importantly to shine in the classroom.

Local football players,  Brendan O’Connor and Colin Orr and Pleasantville's John Conway and Danny Schulman, did just that as they were named Golden Dozen scholar-athlete honorable mention by the Westchester Chapter of the National Football Foundation.

Local girls unbeaten in hoops

Basketball is a great game to play, especially when you are playing it really well.

That is the case for Pleasantville A, which has a 5-0 mark and holds the top spot in the Tri-County Basketball League's seventh grade division.

Its neighbor, Briarcliff, has also shown it can shoot the rock and play some "D" as it is right behind in second place with a 4-0 record.
