When Do Schools Close, Reopen for Holidays 2016 in Briarcliff Manor and Pleasantville?

PLEASANTVILLE, NY — It's just the way the calendar falls in 2016. Christmas Eve is on a Saturday; Hanukkah is on a Sunday; New Year's Day is on a Sunday.

And that's why the Briarcliff and Pleasantville school districts' holiday vacations are only six school days long. The last day of school is Dec. 23. Then Jan. 2 is the national holiday, and there you are, the end! School resumes Jan. 3, 2017.

Then it's a cold six weeks till the next vacation:

• Briarcliff Manor: Mid-Winter Recess Feb. 20 - 24
• Pleasantville: Mid-Winter Recess Feb. 20-24
