Woman Hospitalized After Driving Car off Road on Taconic [VIDEO]

Briarcliff Manor FD and Ambulance Corps responded to the scene.

Update, 2:50 p.m. — First Assistant Chief O'Hanlon reported New York State Police are now investigating this as a two-car accident, involving one vehicle leaving the scene without stopping after the accident.

A woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after she lost control of her vehicle while driving north on the Taconic State Parkway this afternoon.

were notified of a car off in the woods in the village's portion of the parkway at 1:25 p.m. and dispatched the Volunteer Ambulance Corps and to the scene.

State Police also responded to the one-vehicle accident, where the silver Subaru sedan had landed in the wooded area adjacent to the lefthand lane.

The car came to rest after making a 360-degree turn, ultimately facing south.

The accident, at about mile marker 4.9, did not involve any other vehicles.

"It looks like minor injuries," said Robert O'Hanlon, the fire department's first assistant chief. "She lost control."

The woman was taken from the scene in an ambulance, while emergency responders worked to remove the car from the woods.
