On the 7th Day of Christmas, Celebrate - Responsibly

Don Bosco Workers celebrate, highlight businesses that took the 'Good Workplace' pledge

n the United States, the 12 days of Christmas are a period of feasting, merrymaking and gift-giving, when it is traditional to express one’s love for family and community. The people of Don Bosco Workers in Port Chester are marking the season by highlighting one or two local business on each of the 12 days between Christmas Day and Three Kings Day on January 6. It’s our way of expressing appreciation to those companies that have signed our Good Workplace pledge to pay all workers fairly and to support our campaign to end wage theft.

We bet that some of you are going to New Year’s Eve parties tonight, and you’ll need a gift for your host. You can’t go wrong with a bottle of bubbly from Discount Wine & Liquor, located at 233 Westchester Ave. Or be creative and pick up some authentic Mexican treats from La Flor dl Jalisco bakery, also on Westchester Ave. at number 217. Or be a sport and show up with something from both of these outstanding Good Workplaces. Take RC Taxi from house to house so you don’t have to find parking.  Remember, have a great time ringing in the new year. Don’t drink and drive or make someone in your group the designated driver.

HEINEKEN USA is once again joining forces with Westchester County, the City of White Plains and the White Plains Business Improvement District to help keep residents safe on New Year’s Eve with its “New Year. Safe Ride.” program. Revelers can take advantage of the ‘New Year. Safe Ride.’ program between 11 p.m. on Dec. 31 and 3 a.m. on Jan. 1. The car service station will be located in the heart of downtown, on the corner of East Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue (from Heineken’s press release). Similar programs will be available in Rockland County as well. There’s no excuse.
