A Palette of Rye - February 20 - March 31

Port Chester photographer, Cordia Murphy’s exhibit, A Palette of Rye, expresses her personal and profound relationship with the natural beauty of the waters, marshes and woodlands of Rye, New York.  Using her little rowboat, Coco, to get into the nooks and crannies of Milton Harbor and its tidal estuary, Blind Brook, she photographs scenes that are ethereal and painting-like.  They include the loveliness of the brook at breaking dawn, close-ups of its migratory visitors such as egrets, herons and other seabirds, and action shots of diving ospreys and seagulls. The serenity and beauty of Milton Harbor is portrayed in all of the seasons.
To show the extensiveness of the natural areas in Rye, Ms. Murphy has included in her exhibit photographs of deer, song birds and marshland reflections taken at Beaver Creek near Park Avenue and winter photographs of the Marshlands Conservancy on the Boston Post Road.
