Principal Search For Port Chester's King Street School: 11 Candidates

District hopes to select a principal by the next board meeting: 7:30 p.m. on May 30 at the King Street School

The met Thursday evening at with a full agenda and auditorium. The meeting was highlighted by an update on the search for a principal , a public hearing on the 2012-2013 budget and an update on the year at Kennedy.

“As of now we have 11 candidates in place,” said . “I invited them all to the office and we went over protocol. We will be completing interviews in the coming weeks, invite them back for a walk through of King Street School and from there we’ll glean out the candidate.”

He added that they hope to have a principal picked out by the next board meeting, which is at 7:30 p.m. on May 30 at the King Street School.

Half a dozen people took the podium during the public hearing on the 2012-13 budget and they all had one thing in common, a desire keep the reading teachers that the board is planning on cutting after the end
of this school year.

The reading teachers were all called to the podium and handed tokens of appreciation by the PTA; tears were in the eyes of many in attendance.

The 2012-2013 budget vote will be held on May 15 at the Port Chester Middle School Gymnasium from 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.
