Middle School Band Heads to Hershey Park Today

Student band members head to Pennsylvania today for a music competition and some quality time on rollercoasters.

What's that sound? If you listen closely this morning, you may be able to hear the sound of Port Chester musicians cheering for a welcome study break as they trek to Pennsylvania's Hershey Park today for roller coasters, chocolate bars and a chance to compete in a music competition.

More than 120 participants and 92 family members of the Port Chester Middle School Select Show Choir, Select Band and Jazz Band will depart today, and the kids will perform for a musical evaluation and competition at Middletown and Hershey High Schools.

Then the real fun begins. Along the way the kids will be rewarded with little time on rides at the amusement park, followed by an awards ceremony for their hard work in the band room.
