The driver was stopped around 3:22 a.m. on October 9 and later released to a third party, but local residents may notice increased enforcement along area roadways.

• Port Chester Swimmer Completes English Channel Crossing (talkofthesound.com) — A Port Chester resident, distance swimmer Drew Nemetz, has joined an elite group by completing a solo English Channel crossing in just over 14 hours. Nemetz, who co-owns Alpen Pantry in Old Greenwich, trained in Long Island Sound and raised more than $20,000 for Larchmont-based Save the Sound, and he'll discuss the feat and local water quality in a November 4 webinar.
