PCMS Kids Play NASA Engineers For A Day

At Port Chester Middle School's Science Challenge, students tested their knowledge of the physics of flight.

Three, two, one..blast off!

Port Chester Middle School students recreated a shuttle launch in miniature on Friday when they used air and water pressure to launch water bottle rockets for science class.

Although the methods of propulsion differ, the basic physics are the same. The kids learned about aerodynamic nose cones, straightening fins and parachute recovery systems. And they perfected their rockets and launch systems through trial and error, just like their real-life engineer counterparts.
