Port Chester Actors Bring 'Company' Musical to Crawford Mansion

Local actors will bring the Stephen Sondheim musical to life during a three-day run at Crawford Mansion in Rye Brook.

What's it like to carry a long-held aversion to commitment into adulthood while your closest friends settle into married life?

Actors from Port Chester, Rye Brook and surrounding towns will explore that question and a range of other adult themes with a production of Stephen Sondheim's musical, Company.

The show, sponsored by the Port Chester Council for the Arts, will come to life locally for a three-day run at Crawford Mansion in Rye Brook, starting on July 13.

Using a series of vignettes that don't follow a traditional narrative structure, the musical focuses on a central character named Robert as he celebrates his 35th birthday among his closest friends.

The production marks an important milestone for the Port Chester Council for the Arts -- members will celebrate the organization's 30th anniversary this year, a long run that includes more than 100 productions produced almost exclusively by local actors, musicians and stage staff.
