Port Chester Man Charged With DWI After Two-Car Accident

Police: Second man was driving without a license.

A Port Chester man was charged with drunken driving and a Greenwich, CT, man got a ticket for unlicensed driving after a two-car accident on Westchester Avenue, according to Port Chester police.

No one was injured in the 9:44 p.m. Wednesday collision at the intersection of Oak Street in the village.

Police investigating the accident involving Honda Civic and a Ford Mustang found Javier Martinez, 28, of 61 Haseco Ave., Port Chester, to be intoxicated, noting that Martinez had trouble standing up and walking as he got out of his Civic. Martinez was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

The driver of the Mustang, a 23-year-old Greenwich man, told police he did not want to file an accident report and that he was OK after the accident. He told police that the Civic struck his car while making a turn.

However, police said that when they checked the man's driver's license they found it was an invalid international license. The Greenwich man was issued a ticket for a license violation.
