Port Jefferson Library on Location

A quick overview of the upcoming Port Jefferson Library's Local Heritage Project off-site programs.

One of the objectives of the Living Heritage Project is to enlighten our patrons about the local history of the area. One way we plan on doing this is to offer interesting cultural and educational programs off-site.

Miller House Tour: We have planned a visit to the Miller Place-Mount Sinai Historical Society for a tour of the Miller House. The tour will be held on Saturday May 12 from 1:00-2:00pm.  Registration is required and we will meet at the Miller House located at 75 North Country Road, Miller Place.

How to Buy an Antique Clock: This program will include information on how and where to buy an antique clock and how to become an expert on what details to look for.  Information will also be given on how to care for an antique clock.  Attendees can receive a verbal appraisal for one antique clock, per person, for a donation of ten dollars. Verbal appraisals will be made by Marshall Irving, Antiquarian Horologist and Supervisor of the Spinney Clock Museum and Repair School. Program will be held on Sunday May 20 at 2 pm at the Spinney Antique Clock Museum & Repair Shop which is located at the .
