See You “Round” at the Port Jefferson Free Library

Come check out the newly organized rounders of information and fliers in the Port Jefferson Free Library.

Libraries are not just books, DVDs, and periodicals. They are the places where you go to get information. Well, we’ve made it a bit easier for you to find what you are looking for!

Visitors to the have seen the revolving rounders in which we display fliers and other information. The rounders have been reorganized to make finding the information you need even easier. Each rounder now has a sign on top to identify its contents.

The first rounder is located just inside the automatic doors. It is immediately to the right of the Circulation Desk. It contains all fliers for library programming for adults. Check it out, and we hope to see you at many of the events!

The second rounder is located to the left of the entrance to the Reading Room (the one with the fireplace). It contains a variety of local information . Need a map of the village? Pick it up here! We also have LIRR train schedules (Mets, Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson Station). Save gas- take the bus! Find bus schedules for all the major Port Jefferson, and Port Jefferson Station bus routes and tell high gas prices to take a hike!

As you walk into the Reading Room to the right is the bookcase where the newest paperbacks are located. Check out the “Readers Advisory” rounder which sits atop the bookcase. Bibliographies displayed cover a wide variety of topics from crafting to mysteries set in Ancient Times. You will be sure to find some great reading ideas! Also see our “Forthcoming Fiction” brochures for the listing of the newest releases from popular authors.

Look at our Technology Class listing for newest classes.

Of course there are always librarians at the Reference Desk for additional assistance and information.

We hope this reorganization will make the Library more user friendly for you. See you ‘round the Library!
