The Benefits of Membership at the Port Jefferson Free Library

You’ve probably heard that your library card is the "smartest card in your wallet," but having a Port Jefferson Free Library card makes you savvy consumer!

Your card entitles you not only to our excellent variety of materials and programs, but also to discounts on a variety of goods and services.

No doubt about it, parking in Port Jefferson can be a challenge. To make things easier for Port Jefferson Free Library cardholders, the PJFL and the Village have teamed up to provide discounted parking passes. The passes are available for purchase at the Library Circulation Desk. Please note, you must present your Port Jefferson Free Library card to purchase a pass.  Each pass costs $12.50 and allows for 50 hours of parking (Without the pass it would be $25.00 for 50 hours of parking, so this is a great deal!)

Your library card not only gets you parking discounts, but also makes you eligible for special offers and discounts in a variety of village merchants and service providers. Once you’ve found your parking spot take a stroll around Port Jefferson. Start off your day with breakfast or coffee at one of participating restaurants and enjoy a tasty deal!

Head to the Library for a program and stay a while and beat the heat. We have puzzles, games, and books for children and adults can always read a book or magazine from our adult collection. (All we ask is that you return them to the main desk if you are not checking them out).

Pay a visit to the across East Main Street from the Main Library Building. Browse a great collection of gently used volumes for adults, children, and teens. As a PJFL cardholder, you are entitled to receive a free paperback with any purchase.

As noon nears everyone is going to be ready for lunch. Stop into one of our participating eateries for a hearty lunch. Want to do some shopping? Several popular village shops participate in our program so stop in and check out their merchandise and help support small businesses!
