Food Drive Brings Thanksgiving to Those in Need
Edna Louise Spear Elementary students take part in food drive.
Edna Louise Spear Elementary School students have been working to collect and organize food for donation to nine Port Jefferson families in need this Thanksgiving season.
The food drive, in its 13th year, is organized by Port Jefferson School Counselor Jessica Peterson, and aims to bring students, teachers and administrators together to make a difference for local families.
Aside from collecting non-perishable food items from students and turkeys from teachers and administrators, the drive also collected toiletries and cleaning supplies.
