CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It is a lifesaving procedure that is done when someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped. This may happen after drowning, suffocation, choking, or other injuries.
All parents and those who take care of children should learn infant and child CPR. Now that the warm weather is here many families will be heading to pools and beaches to cool off from the summer heat. This might be the perfect time to consider being trained to perform life-saving CPR.
Certified CPR instructor and registered nurse, Lori Green, will teach patrons how to perform CPR and other lifesaving techniques on infants and children at the Comsewogue Public Library. This program will be opened to Comsewogue Public Library cardholders. A non-refundable $35.00 check, made payable to Lori Green, is required for each participant and will be collected by the instructor. Patrons may choose to register for the Saturday, June 22nd class held from 10 AM to 1 PM or the Tuesday, August 13th class held from 7-10 PM.
