A Lesson in Friendship and Diversity at Edna Louise Spear Elementary

Alisty Joy Keneth, president of AJK Diversified, spoke about the meaning and importance of diversity.

As part of their character education, all students at Edna Louise Spear Elementary School participated in a workshop on Feb. 26 about diversity.

During the workshop, students listened as Alisty Joy Keneth, president of AJK Diversified, spoke about the meaning and importance of diversity and how they can reach out and become friends with someone who may seem different.

“Everyone has feelings, wants to belong and deserves to be treated equally and with respect,” said Keneth, who challenged all students to go out of their way to be a friend to someone they don’t know in school.
