Man, 26, Shot After Leaving Party In Port Jefferson Station: PD

The man was found in the home's backyard and was transported to a local hospital in "serious but stable condition," police said.

PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY — A 26-year-old Freeport man was shot after leaving a party at a home in Port Jefferson Station on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.

Officers responded to Pine Street at about 11:40 p.m. after a 911 caller reported that a man was shot, police said, adding that when they arrived Angel Bermudez was found in the backyard with two gunshot wounds.

Bermudez was transported to a local hospital in “serious but stable condition,” police said.

Police did not release any further details.

The shooting was one of two that happened within about an hour-and-a -half in Suffolk County last night. A 41-year-old man was shot outside of a home in North Lindenhurst at about 1 a.m., police said.
