Man Robs GNC, Fourth Robbery in 10 Days in Port Jeff Station

Latest robbery occurred Monday night, police say.

Police are investigating a robbery at a Port Jefferson Station business Monday night, the fourth such robbery in town over a 10-day period.

According to police, a man entered the GNC store, located at 560 Route 112, at 7:30 p.m. and demanded money from an employee. The employee complied and the robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

On Sunday night, a man robbed the Kool Mart located at 600 Hallock Avenue. Last Tuesday, a man robbed the Carvel located at 407 Route 112. On Sept. 19, a man with a knife robbed the Family Dollar store located at 526 Route 112.

Police released a photo Tuesday of the man they say robbed Carvel and Family Dollar. Police did not say if he’s also suspected in the most recent robberies.

The suspect is described as possibly a white or light-skinned Hispanic male, between 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-2, with a thin build and a small black moustache.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the robberies is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
