• Motorcyclist In Serious Condition After Being Ejected Off Bike In Port Jefferson Station Crash: Police (patch.com) — A 19-year-old Port Jefferson Station motorcyclist is in serious condition after police say he was ejected from his bike during a high-speed crash on Nesconset Highway Thursday night. The man reportedly struck a turning Camaro, flew over its hood, and hit another car exiting a parking lot; detectives impounded the vehicles and are asking witnesses to contact the 6th Squad in Selden. 
• Veterans kayak 22 miles across Long Island Sound to raise awareness about PTSD and suicide (news12.com) — Veterans and first responders paddled 22 miles across Long Island Sound, finishing on the beach in Port Jefferson to honor those lost to suicide and spotlight PTSD struggles. After a solemn moment of silence, organizers urged local veterans and families to seek help, highlighting nearby support services like Paws of War and the Long Island State Veterans Home.
