Police: 4 Arrested After Armed Robbery in Port Jeff Station

The robbery occurred early Sunday.

Four people were arrested following an armed robbery in Port Jefferson Station early Sunday morning, police said.

The robbery occurred on Dewey Street around 1:50 a.m. Sunday. According to police, four people robbed a man of marijuana and cash. One of the robbers displayed a gun, but it is unclear which one, police said. No injuries were reported.

The following people were arrested and charged with first degree robbery:

  • Chris Nieves, 17, of Port Jefferson Station
  • Joseph Nizza, 21, of Port Jefferson Station
  • Cody Steiner, 19, of Port Jefferson
  • Sarah Zittel, 19, of Northport

All four were arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Monday. Nieves is being held on $60,000 bond of $30,000 cash bail. The others are being held on $40,000 bond or $20,000 cash bail.
