Police: Port Jeff Man Dies After Medical Condition Causes RV Crash

A 71-year-old Port Jefferson man died Monday following a crash in which he "suffered a medical condition" that caused him to lose control of the RV he was driving, Nassau police said.

Edward H. Daubel was driving his 2007 white Winnebago south on Round Swamp Road in Old Bethpage shortly before noon when the RV crashed into a tree and a utility pole, police said.

The Plainview Fire Department transported Daubel to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.  Police did not say whether the medical condition or the crash itself was the cause of Daubel's death.
