It was a successful season for the Earl L. Vandermeulen High School Mathletes team, as they placed first in Division 1 for Small Schools. Coached by high school math teacher Dennis Christofor, the team defended their title after competing in five meets, each featuring six challenging questions. In addition to the team win, team caption Ryan Burke and junior Eric Kilgore both earned top scorer awards for Suffolk County. Out of more than 800 participating students across Suffolk County, Ryan placed fifth and Eric placed eighth.
