Port Jeff Station Man Arrested After Fleeing Wrong-Way Crash: Police
The 27-year-old is also charged with reckless driving and driving without a license.

A Port Jefferson Station man faces multiple charges after a wrong-way crash in Port Jefferson Station Sunday morning, police said.
According to police, 27-year-old Joseph Mango was driving a 1995 Cadillac eastbound on Route 347 when he crossed over the westbound lanes and struck a westbound 2011 Honda and a telephone pole near Davis Avenue around 10:10 a.m. on Sunday.
Mango fled on foot, but was caught a short distance away by responding officers, police said.

Mango and the Honda’s occupants, a man and a woman, were treated at local hospitals for minor injuries.
Mango is charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, reckless driving and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash with injuries. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.
